“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.”
― J. M. Barrie
One of my earliest memories is my mother reading Peter Pan to me. I would snuggle close under the covers and listen to the soothing sound of my mother’s voice as the words danced across the pages painting the perfect picture of Neverland and The lost Boys.
The main character, Peter Pan displays a fascinating ability to believe so fully in whatever he imagines that for him, at least, it appears to become real. …
Two years ago I took a huge risk and left college. I left a world filled with perfect problems that had perfect solutions and embarked on a journey that I hoped would shape me into the person I wanted to be, a master problem solver.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” -Robert Frost
When I was in middle school I had this art teacher who would begin every class by reading “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. She would stand in the middle of…
Workplace competition, an epidemic that seems to plague offices rather than benefit them.
An employee of the month. Salesperson of the year. The top marketer in the group. Words we’ve all heard, so much that they’ve become second nature in most industries.
So why are these words red flags? Well for starters it hints that a company has lost or is losing the “big picture” mentality.
Big picture mentality is the mission or goal being centered around the company’s best interest rather than the individual’s interest.
When a company enforces and fosters a hyper-competitive workspace they unknowingly build high levels…
I am not going to lie and say that God and I have been on great terms lately. In fact, if I am being completely honest there has been radio silence on my end for almost a year now.
I have no excuses or reasons but just the mere fact that I slipped into a mindset of carelessness.
So what changed? My focus did.
Have you ever tried to take a picture and for some reason no matter how hard you try the camera won’t focus on the object on the other side of the lens?
Well, my life was…
Hey, my name is Sierra Hays and over the course of this month, I will be learning how to build a better customer success platform.
During week four I created my landing page. A landing page is a place where you can display the timeline of your project.
I gathered everything I worked on during weeks one through three and began linking each project together.
My goal was to have a landing page that no matter what link you viewed you would be able to navigate back to the main page.
Landing pages are crucial when you are building a…
My name is Sierra Hays and during December 2020 I tackled a month-long project that challenged me to learn three new operational skills so I could build a better customer success platform for Equifax.
The three operational tools I learned were Drift, TextExpander, and Wix.
By learning how to operate and navigate these operational tools I have gained a better knowledge of how to tackle the world of operations in any business.
Below is a detailed outline of everything I did and learned while working on this project!
Project Task: Build out a customer success and support package system for an existing business that is lacking one (FAQ, help center documentation, text expander snippets, chatbot, etc.)
For my Portfolio Project Piece, I will spend this next month growing my technical skills by improving the customer success of Equifax, a global data, analytics, and technology company.
In 2018 Equifax was voted the most hated business due to the security breach that resulted in thousands of confidential information being sold and distributed. Since then Equifax has improved their security but neglected to touch base on their customer success platforms.
At…
Hi, my name is Sierra Hays, and over the last few weeks, I have been learning different Operational tools in hopes to build a better customer service platform for Equifax.
During Week Three of my of my month-long project, I spent time learning how to use TextExpander.
TextExpander is software that allows you to create snippets from any written form whether it's an email or blog site and create an abbreviation that will insert that information when typing.
I had so much fun learning how to create and use snippets on TextExpander, in many ways TextExpander is a fancy version…
